Large Item Pickup - 2024 Schedule

HOUSEHOLD LARGE ITEM PICK UP

The Town will conduct a large item pick-up 4 times per year.  

Place the large item at the curb by 7 am of your scheduled pickup date:

Ward 1:

4/29/2024, 6/3/2024, 8/5/2024 & 09/30/2024

Ward 2:

5/6/2024, 6/10/2023, 8/12/2024 & 10/7/2024

Ward 3:

5/13/2024, 6/17/2024, 8/19/2024 & 10/15/2024

Ward 4:

5/20/2024, 6/24/2024, 8/26/2024 & 10/21/2024

Trucks only pass through once.   Pick up will be weather dependent.

Items the Highway Department will pick up:

Couches, loveseats, box springs, mattresses, recliners, tables, chairs

Items the Highway Department WON’T pick up:

Paint, construction materials/debris (including deck & fencing materials), concrete, stones, dirt, aerosol cans, tires, TV sets, computers, monitors, microwaves, dehumidifiers, air conditioners/central air units & components, refrigerators, propane tanks, landscaping fabric, batteries, motor vehicles or any parts from them, swimming pools (including the liner & cover), any item containing or has previously contained gas or oil, swing sets, slides, basketball units, children’s large recreational apparatus, toxic household waste (visit OCRRA’s website for toxic household waste drop off information).

If you have a question as to whether the Highway Department can pick up an item or you don’t see your items listed above, please call the office at 315-455-5525 the week before your pick up to check. Business Hours are Monday - Friday, 7 am - 3 pm.

Large amounts of trash/garbage (like a house or apartment clean outs/move outs) residents can hire their own independent hauler, arrange with Syracuse Haulers at 315-426-6771 (for a fee) or you may take items to the Rock Cut Rock Road transfer station (for a fee).  They can be reached at 315-453-2866 or info@ocrra.org

Don’t place your household garbage, recycling, leaves or yard waste out with your large items as they won’t be picked up.

*** REMEMBER *** If you put out your large item when it’s not your assigned timeframe or if you leave items on the curb/property edge that won’t be picked up, you may be cited by the Codes Enforcement Office which could result in fines and a court appearance

Also, when placing out your item please don’t block mailboxes, catch basins, cars, street light poles, and other items along the road.
