Town Board

The Town of Salina Town Board is the legislative, appropriating, governing and policy determining body of the town and exercises all such powers and duties as are conferred or imposed upon it. Some of the Town Board's other duties include: appointment of Department Heads on recommendation of the Supervisor; approval of budget modifications and transfers between budgeted appropriations in the annual budget or in the capital budget, if any; the making of studies and investigations as it deems to be in the best interest of the town; and, the creation of non-compensated advisory boards.

Each ward in the Town of Salina has an elected representative as their Town Board member. This person will act as the residents' liaison to town government if requested. Additionally, the Councilor is responsible for recommending the appropriate action to the rest of the Town Board when the issue involves their area of representation. All residents are encouraged to call upon their Councilor when and if an issue should arise requiring Town Government involvement.

The Town Board meets every second and fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 PM with occasional modifications (please refer to the Town Clerk's Office for specific dates.)
